We’re all looking for ways to reduce our environmental footprint therefore we have swapped our mini jumbo, micro rolls and standard jumbo to a sugar cane product as this is more sustainable.
Sugarcane toilet rolls are made from sugar cane fibre. They are a much more environmentally-friendly alternative to conventional virgin wood fibre and even recycled paper-based products.
Sugarcane toilet rolls swap out the main ingredient used to create tissue – usually virgin wood fibre, recycled paper or some other pulp – with bagasse. A by-product of juicing, this residue is primarily made up of sugarcane fibre. This fibre is then pulped, wet-laid, and then pressed into sheets which are dried before being cut and embossed into the familiar toilet rolls we use in our homes. Because it’s completely natural, sugarcane toilet rolls biodegrade easily and don’t create any chemical waste.
